Charge Controller

Solar Charge controllers control the charge to batteries and power packs from solar panels. Charge controllers come in different Amp ratings to best match how many Watts are coming in from your solar panels. They also come in different voltages: 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V. Some charge controllers can work with a range of voltages: 12V/24V or 12V/24V/36V/ 48V. There are two types of charge controllers: PWM or MPPT. PWM is less expensive and is acceptable for smaller systems. MPPT is more efficient (less power loss between your solar panels and the batteries. There are some charge controllers that only work with lead acid batteries or Lithium batteries. Some are programmable to work with non-standard batteries. At Azimuth, we can help you match the right controller for your needs.
